Wamego’s 15-acre City Park features the Dutch Mill, a stone windmill, circa 1879. You can stroll back in history as you walk through the Wamego Historical Museum and Prairie Town Village, a collection of authentic buildings from the 1800’s. Enjoy the playground equipment, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, drop a line in the two-acre fishing pond, or take a dip in the swimming pool. (Wamego Historical Society / Museum 785-456-2040)
Enjoy one of the best picnic spots in the State
Since the park is often listed among the best picnic spots in the state, you may want to pack a picnic basket, or grab some take-out from one of several restaurants in town and relax on one of the many tree-shaded picnic tables.
Contact Wamego City Hall at (785) 456-9119 to reserve the pavilion for a private party.
Take a ride on the children’s train
The ADA accessible Children's Train is up and running, so hop aboard for a tour of the park. An open-air pavilion and Train Depot with restrooms are also available.
